Overview
Planning consent has been granted for an exceptional Paragraph 84 dwelling on the edge of the South Downs National Park.
The jaw-dropping house has been designed by Hawkes Architecture, the country’s leading Paragraph 84 Practice. Preserving and enhancing the landscape setting is the underlying focus of this unique and exceptional design, enabling the black and white flint curved dwelling to blend seamlessly into the woodland backdrop.
The proposed exterior palette incorporates dark snapped flint and metal cladding, contrasting to the white render of the curved interior facing courtyard walls.
The dwelling will benefit from a formal, walled garden with field flint walls together with planters merging with off-white pillars and generous glass panelled doors to form the garden aspect. Whilst outside will be a wildflower meadow, newly planted trees and a wetland area.
The interior plans will incorporate 1,270 sqm of floor space featuring smooth off-white curved walls throughout, with a large central hallway and curved staircase leading to the first floor.
This unique and bespoke design includes a sustainable renewable energy system and 80 sqm of garage space, with parking for six vehicles. There will be secure gated access from the road, with the entrance discreetly incorporated into the external wall and a 12m turning circle on the driveway.
